Welcome!
Welcome to the website of the Melrose Pondfeilders Base Ball Club. The Melrose Pondfeilders Vintage Base Ball Club was founded in July of 2001 and played its first game in September 2001. Based in Melrose, Massachusetts, the team is comprised mostly of people who work, live, or grew up in Melrose. The Pondfeilders are dedicated to emulating the rules of 1860’s base ball (two words at the time). It is the Pondfeilders hope to create a better appreciation for the history of early base ball and its customs. All Pondfeilders games are open to the public and free of charge.

Players and Umpires Wanted!
WE WANT YOU!
Interested in playing vintage base ball? The Melrose Pondfeilders would like to welcome you to come down and try it out with us.
OR
Would you like to umpire a game? The umpire in 1860's ball is a person of great influence and respect. We promise to try and make you feel that way! The rules are pretty similar to the modern game and we are happy to train you in the differences and nuances of the old game.
